Overview
Bormal Engineering is seeking a Site Lab Technician in Kuching, Sarawak to conduct field and laboratory testing of soils, aggregates and materials for construction projects.
Requirements
1. Diploma or certificate in civil or construction technology or a related field.
2. 3 years of work experience.
3. Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
4. Proficiency in operating field testing equipment such as sand cone, weighing balance and oven.
5. Ability to understand compaction testing, material properties and testing standards such as BS and MS.
6. A willingness-to-learn attitude toward upskilling is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
1. Perform on-site field density tests, compaction tests and moisture content tests on soils and aggregates.
2. Collect and prepare soil, aggregate and material samples for laboratory analysis.
3. Operate and maintain testing equipment like scales, cones, sieves and ovens.
4. Record and document test results accurately for quality assurance purposes.
5. Collaborate with site engineers, supervisors and contractors to schedule and prioritize testing activities.
