Senior Electrical Engineer

Overview NorPower Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Norconsult Norge AS, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join multidiscipline planning and engineering teams in Sarawak. The role involves design, specification, supervision of field investigations, and development of cost-effective engineering solutions for hydroelectric power, transmission line and substation projects. Requirements 1. BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, preferably with experience in power generation, hydropower, substations and switchyards or similar. 2. Minimum 15 years relevant experience in electrical design, design review, construction supervision, testing and commissioning. 3. Experience with HV and LV systems, switchgear, protection and control, AC/DC systems and electrical auxiliaries. 4. Experience with power transformers and large generators would be advantageous. 5. Fluent in English, both written and spoken. 6. Knowledge of relevant international standards and Malaysian requirements. 7. Preferably registered as a Professional Engineer with the Board of Engineers Malaysia. Responsibilities 1. Review electrical drawings, specifications, calculations and technical submissions for compliance with project requirements, applicable standards and approved design criteria. 2. Support implementation of electrical works during construction, including site inspections, installation verification, testing and commissioning. 3. Provide technical input on design coordination, interfaces, resolution of technical issues and non-conformances. 4. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, contractors, OEMs and the Employer.
