Safety & Health Officer

Overview We are seeking a Safety & Health Officer to oversee and direct all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) for a property development company based in Kuching, Sarawak. Requirements 1. Must possess a valid Green Book certification issued by DOSH. 2. Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Safety Officer, preferably in the construction industry. 3. Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian OSH regulations, including OSHA 1994. 4. Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to promote a culture of safety. 5. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 6. Ability to prepare clear and accurate safety reports. 7. Able to communicate in Chinese is preferred. Responsibilities 1. Oversee, plan, organize, coordinate, administer and direct all aspects of HSE. 2. Ensure that safety standards are maintained and continuously seek ways to improve safety standards. 3. Establish and ensure implementation of best safety practices. 4. Advise management on all matters pertaining to safety and health, including compliance with legislation on safety and health. 5. Provide information, technical assistance and interpretations of OSHA and the company's OHSE standard for employees and subcontractors. 6. Perform regular safety inspections to identify hazards and take necessary precautions; conduct safety briefings and training. 7. Implement safety policies and procedures at sites and ensure compliance. 8. Coordinate and liaise with relevant authorities such as DOSH, DOE and the Health Department. 9. Maintain relevant safety reports, records and certificates required under the Act. 10. Investigate and report all reportable accidents internally to relevant persons and externally to relevant authorities. 11. Ensure all issues highlighted by the main contractor are in order and rectified before the due date. Location Kuching, Sarawak
