Safety & Health Officer - Kapit Song

Overview The Safety and Health Officer (SHO) ensures workplace compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994. This role includes conducting regular site inspections, enforcing HIRARC risk assessments, and investigating workplace accidents. Requirements 1. Must be officially registered as a competent Safety and Health Officer with DOSH and hold a valid Green Book. 2. Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or a closely related environmental or science field. 3. Typically 2 to 5 years of related professional OSH experience, especially in high-risk sectors. 4. Strong working knowledge of Malaysian safety legislation and excellent incident investigation capability. 5. Ability to effectively communicate with internal staff and external regulators. Responsibilities 1. Ensure full adherence to DOSH regulations and act as the primary liaison during DOSH inspections and audits. 2. Conduct HIRARC protocols to identify and mitigate workplace hazards. 3. Investigate workplace accidents, perilous incidents, and occupational diseases, preparing detailed incident reports. 4. Design and execute safety awareness campaigns, toolbox briefings, and emergency response training. 5. Perform routine site audits and monitor compliance with environmental and health standards.
