Overview
Bormal Engineering seeks a Quantity Surveyor to manage materials take-offs, purchasing, progress claims and contract documentation for projects in Kuching, Sarawak.
Requirements
1. Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying.
2. Work experience: none (preferably 2 years).
3. Required languages: English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin.
4. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management and estimation techniques.
5. Computer literate and familiar with MS Office application software and AutoCAD.
6. Membership with a recognized professional body, Royal Institute of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM), is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
1. Construct cost estimates for projects, including material, labor and equipment required.
2. Manage construction contracts, ensuring all parties comply with contract terms and conditions.
3. Conduct valuations of completed work, preparing interim and final accounts and certifying payments for clients, consultants and contractors.
4. Monitor and control project costs by reviewing financial data to ensure projects remain on budget.
5. Assist in procurement by evaluating and selecting suppliers, negotiating contracts and managing the supply chain.
6. Assist in preparing tender documentation for submission.
