Quantity Surveyor - Bintulu / Kuching

Overview The Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for preparing cost estimates and bills of quantities, monitoring project budgets and controlling expenditure throughout all project phases. The role also includes preparing tender documentation, negotiating contracts, handling valuations, and managing variations and claims for construction projects in Bintulu or Kuching. Requirements 1. Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline. 2. Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within the construction industry. 3. Strong knowledge of building codes, contract law and construction practices in Malaysia. 4. Proficiency in quantity surveying software and Microsoft Office applications. 5. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail. 6. Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. 7. Sound understanding of project management principles and financial controls. 8. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously. 9. Knowledge of cost estimation methodologies and procurement processes. Responsibilities 1. Preparing detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects. 2. Monitoring and controlling project budgets and expenditures throughout all project phases. 3. Preparing tender documentation and analysing tender submissions from contractors. 4. Negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. 5. Preparing monthly valuations and interim payment certificates for contractors. 6. Managing variations and claims in accordance with contract terms and conditions. 7. Liaising with project managers, engineers and other stakeholders to ensure cost efficiency. 8. Maintaining accurate records and documentation of all financial transactions related to projects. Location Bintulu / Kuching, Sarawak
