Overview
The Project Site Engineer will monitor and supervise daily construction activities, ensure compliance with project plans and specifications, and coordinate between the main contractor, consultants and clients in Bintulu. This position supports the project manager in budget tracking, cost control and documentation for successful project delivery.
Requirements
1. A relevant degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
2. Minimum 2-3 years of experience working as a Site Engineer on construction projects.
3. Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, building codes, and safety standards applicable to the Malaysian context.
4. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, specifications and construction plans.
5. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with diverse stakeholders.
7. A sound understanding of quality control and quality assurance procedures.
Responsibilities
1. Monitor and supervise daily construction activities to ensure work is executed in accordance with project plans, specifications, and contractual requirements.
2. Conduct regular site inspections and quality checks to verify that materials, workmanship and construction methods meet the required standards.
3. Prepare and maintain comprehensive site records, including daily reports, progress documentation, photographs and test certificates.
4. Liaise between the main contractor, consultants, and clients to facilitate effective communication and resolve site-related issues.
5. Coordinate with subcontractors and material suppliers to ensure timely delivery and proper handling of resources.
6. Identify and document variations, defects and delays, and recommend corrective actions to maintain project timelines.
7. Assist in the preparation of as-built drawings and project completion documentation.
8. Support the project manager in budget tracking and cost control measures on site.
