Mechanical Engineer

Overview NorPower Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Norconsult Norge AS, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join engineering teams in Sarawak. The role involves design, manufacturing monitoring and commissioning of hydro mechanical equipment for hydroelectric power and transmission projects. Requirements 1. BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, preferably in heavy rotating (hydropower) machinery equipment or hydraulic steelwork. 2. Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in design, manufacturing monitoring, commissioning of (hydro) mechanical equipment. 3. Knowledge of international design guidelines and requirements. 4. Experience as a Mechanical Engineer or a project manager for interdisciplinary projects would be advantageous. 5. Experience with hydropower mechanical equipment and associated auxiliary systems will be advantageous. 6. Fluent in written and spoken English. Responsibilities 1. Ability to review drawings, method statements, ITPs and other site technical documentation. 2. Monitor installation works for compliance with approved drawings, specifications and applicable standards. 3. Willingness to travel to and be based at site as required. Benefits 1.
