Overview
Eastern Forever Sdn Bhd is looking for a dedicated Accounts Executive to join their team in Kuching. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
2. Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably with exposure to full set of accounts.
3. Good understanding of accounting standards, statutory reporting requirements, audit processes, and proficiency in accounting principles and financial reporting procedures.
4. Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, strong attention to detail, integrity, and the ability to manage deadlines and handle multiple responsibilities effectively.
5. Good analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
6. Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications is an added advantage.
Responsibilities
1. Maintain accurate and complete accounting records, ensuring all transactions are properly supported by relevant documentation and verified prior to posting.
2. Prepare journal entries, perform general ledger postings and ensure proper account classification.
3. Review and verify accruals, prepayments and other accounting adjustments.
4. Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile general ledger accounts on a timely basis.
5. Manage the full set of accounts and ensure all financial records are accurate, complete and up to date.
6. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual group financial statements, management reports and other financial analyses within established reporting deadlines.
7. Reconcile supplier statements, investigate discrepancies and follow up on outstanding claims or issues with suppliers.
8. Reconcile customer accounts, prepare accounts receivable aging reports, monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue payments.
9. Prepare depreciation schedules and maintain an updated fixed asset register.
10. Prepare and maintain schedules for hire purchase, term loans, fixed deposits and other financial instruments.
11. Assist in periodic stock count exercises and ensure proper reconciliation of inventory records.
12. Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, banks, company secretaries and other relevant parties as required.
13. Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, tax regulations and statutory requirements.
